Greetings to everyone!  The winter months have provided time for introspection of self.  Our hibernating self is beginning to stir in a fresh restlessness.  We are anxious to be outdoors with nature.  Step outside and feel the warm sunshine upon your face.  Let the rays stimulate your body’s natural vitamin and hormone production. 
Drink in the rays of light through your Pineal Gland.  Help your body restore your melatonin production from the long winter night.  Studies have shown that it only takes five minutes of being outdoors with sunshine on your face as soon as you wake up to raise your energetic vibration and your biologic production of melatonin. 
The pineal gland sits in the deep recesses of your brain.  As sunlight reaches your eyes, the pineal gland is stimulated to produce melatonin.  Melatonin is responsible for regulating the sleep wake cycle and our circadian rhythms.  Supplements of melatonin are used to treat multiple sleep disturbances such as jet lag, shift work disorder, and insomnia. 
As we enter the season of fall and winter, our natural ability to produce melatonin is reduced by the lack of sunlight.  Sleep disturbances are implicated in mood changes.  One of the most common mood changes associated with loss of sunlight due to the season changes is called Seasonal Affective Disorder or S.A.D.  Individuals can have symptoms of depression and low mood during the seasons of low sunlight. 
What does this have to do with our chakra connection?  Well- a great deal actually.   The chakra connections can become unbalanced as we experience ups and downs in our level of energy.   The pineal gland sits in the Sixth Chakra, commonly known as the 3rd Eye Chakra.  As the 3rd Eye Chakra is deprived of sunlight from the winter months, energetic imbalances may occur.
Tips to help you restore balance to your 3rd Eye chakra:
-Step out into the sunshine every morning within 15 minutes of waking. 
-Let your face take a sunbath before the harmful rays come out. 
-Don’t use sunscreen for at least 15 minutes in order to stimulate the production of vitamin D in your body. 
-While sitting in the sunshine or walking, you can place your right hand on the top of your head and hold the left hand palm side up toward the sun. 
-Intend for the sun to enter your left hand and travel through the arms to the right hand – directly infusing your pineal gland and 3rd Eye chakra with sunlight. 
A great benefit to this is the Crown Chakra also opens up to the sun energy!  You just made a vital connection of your chakras! 
-Now, visualize deep within Mother Earth your Earth Star Chakra.  This is approximately 30 inches beneath your feet. 
-As you take in a deep breath, pull the energy up from your Earth Star Chakra into your feet, grounding you deeply. 
-Continue the journey of the energy moving up the center of your body infusing all your chakras with grounding energy. 
-Be mindful of your Heart. 
-Take a breath of fresh air in & out through your Heart. 
-Place your hands on your Heart with Gratitude & Joy!
-Feel the Earth Energy traveling up and out your Crown Chakra!
